The Highways Agency is proposing to build a new 28 km long two-lane dual carriageway from the A606 junction at Widmerpool to an improved roundabout at Farndon, south of Newark.
The proposals were contained in Orders published in draft under the Highways Act 1980 and the Acquisition of Land act 1981 in December 2005, on which the public were invited to comment on, object to, or express support. An Environmental Statement was also published.
A revised Environmental Statement was also been published and Volume 1 may be viewed on the Inquiry Documents page. An Addendum to the Environmental Statement was published on 23 March 2007.
The complete Environmental Statement (Volume 1 plus Volume 2 - Detailed Assessment and Supporting Information - and Volume 3 - Figures), or the Addendum, is available free of charge on CD-ROM from Balfour Beatty / Scott Wilson (printed copies - £250 for the January publication and £70 for the Addendum).
